Vaccination Programs for Cats
- Distemper
(3 in 1) Vaccination: A three in one vaccination (distemper,
Calici virus and Rhinotracheitis) that protects your cat from
serious and sometimes life threatening illness. All cats should
be vaccinated against these diseases even ones that never
go outside.

Rabies Vaccination:
A fatal nervous system virus which can be transmitted to humans
through an animal bite. It is strongly recommended that ALL
CATS, including cats that never go outside, be vaccinated.
A rabies vaccination is given at 4 months of age or older.
- Feline
Leukemia Vaccination:
A severe, usually fatal disease that is contagious to other
cats.
- Feline
Infectious Peritonitis Vaccination:
A life threatening illness that is infectious to other cats.
A simple intra-nasal vaccine helps prevent this illness.

& Feline Immuno-Deficiency Virus (also called Feline Aids)
Testings:
FeLV/FIV Test is recommended for all cats.

Vaccine to protect against this common fatal disease.
- Fecal:
A test on the stool for internal parasites (worms). Many kittens
are born with worms and adult cats can acquire them. You
will infrequently see them in the feces.
- Heartworm:
A
disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Kittens and cats develop
blood worms that live in their hearts. A new monthly chewable
tablet "Feline Heartguard" is available for
the prevention of heartworm in your cat.
- Feeding:
Science Diet, Adult Maintenance, Low Ash, Hills C/D Prescription
Diet, etc.

- Vitamins:
Favor, Felovite, Pet-Tinic, etc.
- Ears:
Clean about once or twice weekly or as needed. Ask us for ADL
ear cleaner, Oticlens or Pan-Otic.
- Fleas:
Flea powder, flea spray, flea collar, flea comb, Program (once
a month pill), Advantage (once a month topical treatment), and
Frontline (once a month topical treatment). Flea Injections
also now available.
- Teeth:
Dental hygiene is important to your cat's health. Weekly brushing
with a pet toothbrush is recommended. Do not use human toothpaste;
pet toothpaste is available. Always get your cats teeth
checked on a regular basis.
- Neutering
(Spay/Alter):
Recommended at 6 months of age. We can put a reminder in the
computer to let you know when your kitten is old enough.
- Boarding:
We now board cats. Please call in advance to book, Holiday times
are usually booked up quickly.
